Master/Undergrad Research Positions

For master’s and undergrad students who are interested in doing research with me, please directly reach out to me via email and attach the information listed at the top of the page.

Postdoc Positions

I currently do not have any openings for postdocs. However, this may change in the future.

Interested applicants can always apply to the prestigious Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at Johns Hopkins. It is designed to create strategic pathways to STEM faculty positions for scholars from underrepresented groups. The application cycle usually opens in late-August and closes in mid-October, with the fellowship starting on or after July 15. Visit the link in the resources section below for details about the application materials and eligibility. At the moment, this fellowship is only open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

RESOURCES

Prospective students and postdocs who have secured external fellowships are of particular interest.

The list of all fellowships administered at JHU is available here. Note that, there are several Targeted Fellowships that have special requirements, for example:

In addition, Hopkins maintains an extensive database of external Ph.D. fellowships.

There are also scholarship programs sponsored by governments and foundations that can support PhD studies (see the database linked above).  As just three examples,

  • U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent residents are eligible for NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. The deadline is typically mid-October.
  • Spanish and Portuguese nationals are eligible for La Caixa Foundation fellowships for overseas study (including in the U.S.);
  • Chinese Scholarship Council provides scholarship support for overseas study by Chinese students.
